Brescia

Brescia Province Tourism Italy

The land of Brescia, the Lioness of Italy, is a treasure chest of the history and beauty that, from the time of the Camuni people until today, recounts a history composed of aspects and contrasts, drawing a picture of lakes, valleys, vineyards, mountains and traditions that will enchant any tourist. Brescia and its province are a splendid area of Lombardy, a land of a thousand resources with a joyous, lively spirit like the bubbles dancing in its famous Franciacorta wines.

The second largest province and one of the richest in Italy, Brescia extends from the peaks of the Adamello to the sloping hills leading to the plain surrounding two of the largest lakes in Italy, Garda (o Benaco) and Iseo (or Sebino).

Here every year the favourable climate and the beauty of the landscape attract millions of Italian and foreign visitors who, in the narrow streets of the medieval towns and in the thousand fascinations of the water, find innumerable starting points and a thousand emotions.

Travelling north, the landscape becomes grey from the rocks and an intense green from the mountains of the Valcamonica where you can admire the famous rock inscriptions of the Camuni people who lived in the valley in prehistoric times and who left, among other symbols, that of Lombardy: the Camuni Rose.

If you choose a route based on food, the roads of Franciacorta have no rival. Visits to wine cellars and walks among the hills dotted with villas and gardens provide a wonderful holiday for all the family. The pride of this land, however, remains the variety of its offerings: including winter sports with its numerous, renowned ski resorts; culture, thanks to the precious testimony of religious and popular art in the many museums in the area; relaxation and well-being. For the latter, Brescia has several thermal bath establishments, historic buildings immersed in large parks or facing lakes, that combine attention to people with an atmosphere suspended between the present and the past that will enchant the most demanding visitor.
