Lombardy

Tourism in Lombardy Italy

A cultural workshop and an open-air museum with its cities of art, monuments and abbeys; Lombardy offers the tourist innumerable avenues for a journey through history and tradition: a cultural, artistic and architectural experience that will amaze and fire your imagination in a thousand ways.

From its verdant plains to the historic walled cities that preserve their treasures and folklore; from the marvellous atmosphere of the lakes to the magnificent mountains that are the glorious setting for international winter sports events; to the crowning glory which is the rich gastronomic and winemaking tradition that has made our region famous throughout the world... Lombardy is synonymous with 360 degrees of tourism, 365 days of the year.

Varese

Varese is called "the green province", "the garden province", "the land of a hundred lakes", showing how nature here has been generous with water, vegetation and wonderful panoramic views.

Sondrio

Located in the heart of the Alps in the northernmost part of Lombardy, Valtellina occupies an area almost entirely mountainous, a kind of Lombard Tibet with fairy tale views and a very important natural park reserve.

Pavia

Romanesque churches, ancient castles, a monumental mausoleum and a princely square: this is aristocratic Pavia and its province. It is a region with an agricultural spirit and a strong tourist vocation combined with a medieval faith and Renaissance splendour.

Milan

The Duomo, the Sforzesco Castle, the splendid gates, the navigli, the streets in the centre, Brera and the theatres: Milan, the great city of Milan, in addition to its frenetic and metropolitan aspect, offers a wide range of beautiful things, including art, architecture and cultural events without equal! Just outside the city, gastronomic itineraries and country scenes open the window on a life that still respects and preserves the traditional farming traditions.

Mantua

Mantua, an ancient city that provided the setting for many historical events, is one of the most charming places in Lombardy. It was founded in 2000 BC on two small islands in the Mincio River and was crowned by the poetic genius of the at the time celebrated Virgil and by the gilded magnificence of the Gonzaga family.

Lodi

Besides the fascination of the ancient quarters with their red bricks and grey cobblestones, sculptures, museums and libraries, " lower Lodi" welcomes visitors looking for a journey into the medieval atmosphere of a province with an illustrious spirit.

Lecco

The highlights of Lecco and its province are the two uninterrupted mountain chains, the Grigne and Resegone groups, and the branch of Lake Como, which is linked to the memory of Manzoni. It is a land of lakes and mountains that offer memorable scenery, sports and ancient traditions.

Cremona

The province of Cremona is a splendid and most important tourist spot in Lombardy that is rich in cities of art, with itineraries suitable for visitors of all ages. There are fortifications, museums, torrone (almost nougat) and typical local dishes. In Cremona and surroundings, every era has left its cultural and artistic imprint on the urban structure, churches and buildings.

Como

Como and the Lariano area are a splendid part of that very special Lombardy with its wonderful landscape and history. Here, nature and inhabited areas intermingle in a setting of villas and parks suspended on the shores of the lake that was dear to Manzoni. Many tourists from all over Europe come to Como and the surrounding area for a holiday or a visit.

Brescia

The land of Brescia, the Lioness of Italy, is a treasure chest of the history and beauty that, from the time of the Camuni people until today, recounts a history composed of aspects and contrasts, drawing a picture of lakes, valleys, vineyards, mountains and traditions that will enchant any tourist. Brescia and its province are a splendid area of Lombardy, a land of a thousand resources with a joyous, lively spirit like the bubbles dancing in its famous Franciacorta wines.

Bergamo

Bergamo and its province are among the most beautiful tourist spots in the Lombardy Region. There you will find a unique variety of atmospheres and fascinating scenes! There are the vast, relaxing vistas of the plains, the gentle hills with interesting itineraries full of history and culture, the charming views of the lakes and the background of the Pre-alps...
