Reggio Emilia It was in Reggio, on 7 January 1797, that the tricolour, future flag of Italy, was born. The theatres, civic museums, Parmeggiani Gallery, Basilica of Beata Vergine della Chiara and the Church of San Prospero are its main monuments.
