Ravenna
Ravenna City of art, culture and mosaics which, 1,500 years ago, was three times a capital: of the Western Empire, of Theodoric king of the Goths and the Byzantium Empire in Europe. The splendour of this period has left a great heritage of monuments and religious buildings decorated with mosaics which have been designated as world heritage sites by UNESCO.
In Ravenna you can walk past bell towers, through monastic cloisters and see frescoes by Giotto in the Baroque apse of Sant?Apollinare Nuovo.
